My email conversation with my One Skein secret pal continues, much to my delight. In the message she sent yesterday, she mentioned that she had purchased from eBay a selection of miscellaneous yarns, in varying fibers and textures, all in shades of blue.
This image makes me want to go dig through my stash to pull out yarns in various color families and see what I can create without a pattern. The idea is rather freeing. It's been so long since I've visited my stash, however, that I'm a bit worried that most of my collection will be of similar textures. I tend to have a lot of wool and alpaca, but very little cotton or novelty-type yarns. Still, it's worth a look. I've been wanting to do some stash-busting in any case, and it's always nice to become reacquainted with old friends. Time-sucking, but nice.
I think perhaps I should try to be more adventurous in choosing yarns to purchase, especially from eBay--as long as I can get a good deal on the package, within a carefully thought out price range. I have a tendency to fuss and fuss over yarn purchases when buying on-line, wanting to be sure that I'll like what I purchase. While it's not like I have money to burn, I don't think it would kill me to take a chance on something that could prove to be a great deal of fun. I guess I know what I'll be doing on lunch tomorrow!
