So, after giving myself forty lashes with a strand of mohair for not posting pictures, I finally did take some decent photos weekend before last. However, it was irritating me beyond end to try to upload pictures on my slow-as-molasses dial-up connection, and I kept forgetting to take the picture disk to work, so this chore has gone undone.
But today...today I worked on a long post about the Dirt Sweater (aka the FLAK sweater) with a picture and everything. Then I clicked the preview button to make sure all was well (it was) and went back to publish the post.
Nothing. Nada. Gone. Vanished. My karma must need polishing today.
So anyway, here's the Dirt Sweater in all its glory, lounging on one of the Adirondack chairs the Boy made last year:
As you can see, there's still a bit of work to do on this. The Boy rather irrationally insists that the sweater be made longer, despite my assurances that midriff-baring sweaters will be all the rage for men in 2007. Feh. I suppose I will continue on, probably for another five or six skeins of yarn, and then pick up for the neck. Good thing I enjoy working on this sweater, although I'm finding that the Wool of the Andes I'm using is a bit shed-y--I'm constantly having to rinse bits of wool out of my eyes. I'm considering borrowing the Boy's woodworking goggles while working on this.
In the meantime, I am taking a bit of a break from the Dirt Sweater and making dishcloths. I don't know why I'm making dishcloths--I never thought I would. To my surprise, I am really enjoying it, which I feel is a sign that I need to smack around my inner fiber arts snob. I think that it's really refreshing to finish something quickly which will actually be used before the next ice age.
I'd like to go ahead and start a small summer tank top, perhaps something out of the new issue of Interweave Knits. I'm trying to resist buying more yarn until I see what's in the stash, but I don't really want to go through the stash until the Boy finishes my yarnoire (tm).
I guess I'll have to harass sweettalk him into working on this, hmm?
